The law enforcement accreditation process recognizes agencies that have complied with standards established by an organization. The Bal Harbour Police Department gained accredited status in October 1999, from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA). On April 13 2006, Bal Harbour Police Dept. was reaccredited by the CFA and was recognized nationally by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
